General Manager for Donewell Insurance Company Limited, Robert Boateng has advised drivers to be vigilant on the road especially during festive seasons.
“If we exercise caution on our roads we can reduce road accidents by a big margin,” he stated.

With the impact of road accidents affecting a myriad of people, Mr. Boateng drives within acceptable speed limits and urged drivers to do same.
“As an insurance man I see images of road accidents and the aftermath is scary. I see people lose their limbs from road accidents and no matter the compensation they receive, they can never be restored to their former state.”

Speaking at the Happy Development Dialogues hosted by Don Prah on the theme; ‘Road Safety: A Stakeholders Dialogue on Ensuring Safety on Our Roads’, Mr. Boateng shared, that most people purchase insurance because they fear the police. “Although insurance is compulsory, it cannot save your life,” he cautioned.

He reiterated that, claims are never enough to restore road accident victims to their former self and therefore important that drivers and commuters take responsibility of their lives whenever they hit the road. “It is true we sell polices but you need to put your life first and take charge of it. Always tell yourself the cars and roads can be dangerous if you drive carelessly.”

Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC) has dedicated the months of November and December to share educative and informative content on road safety and automobile management. The campaign has Donewell Insurance as the main sponsor and partner with supporting partners such as CFAO Motors Ghana Ltd., Loyalty Insurance and Johanni Auto Cool Ltd. Media partners include Ghanaweb, Akonoba 92.7fm in Bono, Nessim 100.1 in Tamale and Nessim 95.1 in Bolgatanga
