We will create universal free SHS-NDC

We will create universal free SHS-NDC

Even though the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is implementing the flag ship Free Senior High Secondary (Free SHS) policy, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is promising a Universal Free SHS policy to cover every child of school going age in the country ahead of the 2020 elections .
Joshua Akamba, a Deputy National Organizer of the main opposition NDC made this promise on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ , socio-political show hosted by Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on Accra-based Happy FM.
According to him, an NDC’s government will roll out a Free Universal Secondary High School policy that will benefit every Ghanaian of school going age.
We will not introduce a policy that will benefit a few in the country adding the NDC’s Universal Free SHS will come out with a blue print on how the policy will be funded  unlike that of the NPP is doing with version of the policy he said.
The NDC in 2021 will implement a policy that benefit all Ghanaians with clear funding regime he noted.
The NDC will not introduce any policy that will cut off a section of the public explaining that students in Senior High Secondary form one to three.
The policy as it stand has given room  for other to complaint about their exclusion from the policy he added.
According to him, the NDC will ensure every student is given the opportunity to enjoy free education in the country.
He said the NDC will follow footsteps of the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in rolling out the kind free education  like what he did for people of the North in some time past.
He claimed that NDC has the track record of introducing Free Universal Basic Education so implementing free universal secondary education will be no headache  to an NDC government.
