The Member of Parliament for Asante-Akyem North Constituency, Ohene Kwame Frimpong, popularly known as O.K Frimpong, has questioned his critics over their expectations for him to align with the Minority in Parliament, despite their lack of influence to drive development in his constituency.

O.K Frimpong recently faced criticism from sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Asante-Akyem North for his decision to align with the Majority in Parliament. The critics argued that since the NPP gave him the majority of votes during the 2024 elections, he should have partnered with the NPP instead of the NDC.

Addressing constituents at Asante Akyem Wioso, he posed a rhetorical question, asking what benefits the Minority could offer his constituency if he chose to collaborate with them. He reminded his audience that during his campaign, he promised, as an Independent Candidate to work with whichever political party that wins the elections. Since the National Democratic Congress (NDC) emerged victorious, he stated he had no choice but to collaborate with the NDC to secure development for the constituency.

O.K Frimpong pointed out that the NPP suffered a massive defeat in the elections, and aligning with the Minority would hinder his ability to bring developmental projects to his constituents. He added that the same people urging him to work with the NPP Minority would later criticize him for failing to deliver on development.

Describing the criticisms as propaganda meant to tarnish his reputation, he urged the people of Asante-Akyem North to rally behind him. He assured them of his commitment to advancing the constituency’s development and working tirelessly for their success.
