Wontumi Radio’s Oheneba Nana Asiedu arrested for spreading false information ahead of December 7 elections

The Ghana Police Service has arrested Wontumi Radio’s Morning Show host, Oheneba Nana Asiedu for spreading false news that the 2024 presidential elections will be held on two separate occasions.

Oheneba Nana Asiedu who also doubles as an aid to Bernard Antwi Bosiako AKA Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP was seen in a viral video claiming that the Electoral Commission had announced different days for the Presidential elections.

The radio show host claimed that the first 7 candidates on the Presidential ballot paper will vote on December 7 while the elections for the remaining candidates will be held on a different day.

He has now been charged with offences including publication of false news contrary to section 208 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29).

He is currently in police custody according to the statement release by the Ghana Police Service sighted by Happy News.
