Former commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit(MTTU) of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Victor Tandoh has asserted that security persons especially the police do not only work for man but also for God with their line of work.

Talking about the impact and relationship the police had with the citizens some time back he stated that, the security persons especially police men were well respected because they did their jobs right unlike the unprofessionalism most of them exhibit today.

In an interview with Rev Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9 fm’s NsemPii he said, “During my time, a police could not arrest you for a crime you did not commit and you could not bribe a police man if you were really at fault because our training then was very strict and tough”.

He also stated that policemen who failed to do their jobs were also dealt with so it helped with the indiscipline.

“I will like to tell my colleague policemen and soldiers that working in the security service is equal to working for God and it is even written in the Bible”.

He explained that the duty of all security persons is to ensure law and order in our society and they are all expected to intervene and save people all the time.

ACP Victor added that, what these security persons do not know is that if they continue to work diligently in their line of work, they get blessings from God but if they decide to do it anyhow and for the money but not as a service to humanity then, “you will face the consequences because although money is important you need more than money to survive in the world”.

He advised his colleague security persons to serve God wholeheartedly and serve man and they will be amazed what God will do in their lives.
