Y97.9FM’s Haruna Babangida receives Radio Show Host of the Year nomination

Host of Y97.9 FM-Takoradi’s Reggae Republic, Haruna Babaginda has secured himself a claim to become the “Radio Show Host of The Year” in the upcoming 2023 National Communications Awards.

The award scheme, organized by RAD Communications Limited seeks to recognize the efforts of communication and media companies, teams and individuals who have made tremendous efforts in the media space and have used communication to champion organizational and national development.

The National Communications Awards has not merely been a celebration of established media personalities, but also served as a launching pad for emerging talents.

Haruna Babaginda has gained a lot of national recognition over the years for his works. He is ultimately known on the radio for his current affairs programs set to air on the wings of Reggae music. His use of the popular music genre to address sociopolitical issues and African history has earned him a lot of admiration, making him a household name. He plays to entertain, inform and educate.

Expressing his gratitude and excitement regarding the nomination, Haruna Babangida said, “I am so grateful to the award scheme organizers for recognizing my efforts. I am so much thankful for this nomination. I really appreciate the dedication of everyone who has been part of this journey with me. I couldn’t have achieved this without your support. This nomination motivates me to continue pushing across boundaries and strive for excellence in my field but I can’t do without your votes. I will like to use this opportunity to urge everyone to vote for me so that I can win this.’’

The 5th edition of National Communications Awards 2023 is slated for November 24, 2023 at The UnderBridge, East Legon in Accra. Voting for the award programme will be done online via vote.nationalcommunicationsawards.com or dial 920114 and select 6002 and follow the prompts.
