Yaya Touré discloses his favourite teams to win the 2023 AFCON

Former Ivory Coast International and football icon Yaya Touré has made waves by revealing his top contenders for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The 34th edition of the biennial football extravaganza is set to take place in Ivory Coast from January 13th to January 13th, 2023, marking the nation’s second time hosting since 1984.

Touré, known for his stellar career and keen football insights, raised eyebrows by omitting football powerhouses Nigeria and Egypt from his list of favored teams. Instead, he has thrown his weight behind a compelling selection of nations that he believes have the prowess to claim the AFCON 2023 title.

Topping Touré’s list is the host nation, Ivory Coast, a team he undoubtedly holds close to his heart. The former midfielder also singled out the reigning champions, Senegal, signaling a strong belief in their ability to defend their title successfully.

Morocco, Guinea Bissau, and South Africa round off Touré’s list of top contenders.
