Fifteen out of 23 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament in the Eastern Region have declared their support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s bid to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.

The endorsement was announced during a two-day campaign tour, with Achiase MP Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo speaking on behalf of the group.

“Dr. Bawumia possesses the credentials needed to lead the party to victory in 2028,” Marfo said.

The list includes Kojo Oppong Nkrumah (Ofoase Ayirebi), Frank Annoh Dompreh (Nsawam Adoagyiri), Sammi Awuku (Akuapem North), and Kofi Okyere Baafi (New Juaben South), among others.

Dr. Bawumia is contesting the NPP flagbearer slot against Kwabena Agyepong, Kennedy Agyapong, Bryan Acheampong, and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
