2022 World Cup playoff: 26 players arrive in Ghana camp for Nigeria clash

Information reaching Happy Sports indicates that 26 players have arrived in the Black Stars camp ahead of the crucial 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria.

Ghana battles it out with Nigeria for one of the five slots to represent Africa at the 2022 World Cup to be staged in Qatar.

The Black Stars host The Super Eagles in the first leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on March 25, 2022.

The team arrived in Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti the Region on Tuesday to begin preparations.

Black Stars management committee member Akwasi Agyeman in an interview on Happy Sports with Ohene-Bampoe Brenya indicated the team is prepared for victory on Friday.

“We are happy about the euphoria been created by the media ahead of the game. We will need the support of everyone to defeat the Nigerians”.

“The Supporters group in Kumasi are helping out with mobilizing the fans so we have a charged atmosphere at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday. Alhaji Grusah, Nana Yaw Amponsah everyone is involved because this is a national affair. We are hoping with the atmosphere we will have all the support.

The Ghana Tourism Authority boss also revealed that the new players in the Black Stars are happy and they feel welcomed at home.

“We have done all that is expected of us to ensure the team wins on Sunday against Nigeria. The players are motivated ahead of the game”.
“About 90 percent of the requirements from CAF has been met and I want to commend the government and the National Sports Authority for a good job done at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium”.

He added: “The Black Stars training session was not opened to the public on Tuesday because we wanted to prevent scouts or spies away from the team”.
