Ghana will battle it out with Nigeria for a ticket to the 2023 CHAN tournament to be staged in Algeria.
The Black Galaxies progressed to the final round of qualifiers for the 2023 CHAN tournament following a 1-0 win against Benin on Saturday at the Stade de L’Amitie in Porto Novo.
Ghana’s home-based players defeated the Junior squirrels of Benin 4-0 on aggregate to set up a fierce clash against rivals Nigeria in the final round.
The Black Galaxies had won the first leg by 3-0 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium a week ago and needed to avoid a defeat to progress to the next round.
In-form Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barnie scored the only goal of the game in the 82nd minute to secure the win for the Black Galaxies.
The AFCON U20 champions grabbed his second goal of the qualifiers as the Black Galaxies edge past Benin on a 4-0 aggregate after both legs.
