Government Must Speak On Togo Unrest Now— Security Expert Charges

Security analyst Nana Owusu Sekyere has called on government to issue a statement immediately on its position on the uprising currently going on in Togo.
The civil unrest in Togo, which erupted due to the citizen’s displeasure at the 50 years rule of the Gnassingbé family, is gradually creating panic among the general public as government is yet to make a policy statement on the matter.
According to Nana Owusu Sekyere, who spoke on Happy FM’s current affairs show “Epa Hoa Da Ben“the diplomatic discussions behind the scene are not enough in such situations.
“The diplomatic discussions going on behind the scenes on the matter is not enough. The citizens of Ghana need an assurance of the safety of their families residing in Togo to calm their nerves in such situations. There are other Ghanaians who do business in Togo and their safety is prime so government cannot continue to be silent on the issue.” Nana Owusu Sekyere bemoaned.
Calm is yet to be restored in Togo  after five days of agitations from citizens who claim they have seen enough of the Gnassingbe family following the Eyadema’s 38 years stay in power and his son Faure’s 12 years reign after his father’s death in 2005.
Epa Hoa Da Ben airs every weekday from 2pm to 5pm.
