GFA spent over GH₵ 50,000 on taxes to clear National U-15 league equipment

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have announced that they spent over GH₵ 50,000 on taxes to clear equipment from FIFA for the upcoming National U-15 league.

The vice-president of the GFA, George Afriyie, who made the announcement noted that the decision by his outfit to spend such huge sum of money on just clearing jerseys and boots among others shows their commitment to reviving juvenile football in the country.
He however revealed that FIFA helped the association by providing free jerseys and boots among others to help with the competition.
Speaking at the launch of the National U-15 league, Mr Afriyie, said “We spent over GH₵ 50,000 on taxes to clear the equipment sent by FIFA for the competition”.
“This shows how commitment we are to the course of reviving juvenile football in the country,” he added.
The equipment which includes sets of jerseys, goalkeepers gloves, bibs, shin guards, pair of socks, pair of boots, balls and ball bags have been distributed to the teams for the championship.
In all, 16 teams will be taking part in the competition in two zones.
The Northern Zone will be made up of teams from Ashanti A, Ashanti B, Brong Ahafo A, Brong Ahafo B, Upper East, Upper West, Northern and Utrecht Academy.
The Southern Zone will be made up of teams from Greater Accra A, Greater, Accra B, Central, Western, Eastern, Volta, Unistar Academy and Winneba Academy.
