Black Starlets defensive midfielder, Edmund Arko Mensah has acknowledged that the game against ‘Les Elephanteaux’ of Ivory Coast will not be easy, but the group is keen to deliver on promise made to management.

The 15-year old versatile player disclosed that before the team embarked on the trip to Abidjan, all the players held a meeting with the team’s management and vowed to return home victorious as they bid to qualify to the African Youth Championship in Madagascar.

“Yesterday, as we were preparing to leave camp to the Airport, we called upon the coach and all the technical and management team, and promised them that we’re not going to disappoint Ghanaians in Abidjan,” Edmund Mensah revealed.

“We told them because of the bond we’ve formed in camp, we’ll do everything in our power to return with qualification ticket. We’re aware of the quality the Ivorians possess because the game at the Cape Coast stadium, they made things difficult for us after they scored their goal. They put more players behind the ball, which made it hard for us to break.”

“The group believe in each other, and it would be great if we can carry on with the good work we’re doing to the tournament, and maybe the World Cup.”

The Black Starlets will hope to protect their 3-1 lead from the first leg if they are to make it to the tournament next year after missing out on the last Edition in Niger in 2015.
