Telecom giants, Vodafone Ghana over the weekend marked the second anniversary of the introduction of the Vodafone X package onto the market.
Throwing invites to X subscribers who are largely in the youth bracket, Vodafone Ghana executives, the media, stakeholders and friends, the night went well thanks to good music, great chops and refreshing beverages at the Planet X party as attendees had a swell time at the Polo Grounds in Accra.
Marketing Manager for Youth Segment-Vodafone Ghana, Doreen Plange explained the second anniversary theme is “Celebrating X-treme You” adding the Planet X beings can expect an extra-terrestrial experience with goodies on offer.
“We are encouraging all youth to come to the Vodafone X Planet. If you are not on the X platform, you are missing a lot as it is the only planet in Ghana.”
It wasn’t all about music and chops as Vodafone Ghana also unveiled new attractive offers including increased data package for clients at the same price.
X-treme Plus bundle subscribers now get to enjoy 1.5 GB at the same price they used to pay while the X-treme bundle folks now get to enjoy 1 GB at the same price.
Madam Plange stated the objective of rolling out the Vodafone X package to offer the youth a unique yet affordable platform to connect with peers to undertake fruitful activities has been achieved adding even at the high school level, Vodafone Ghana has phone booths on the grounds enabling communication of students and parents as well as other loved ones.

According to Madam Doreen Plange, before rolling out the Vodafone X package, about 1000 youth were contacted to solicit their views and understand what they desired. The research revealed, Ghana’s youthful population desired to access globally known social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter at cool rates and through engagement on the Vodafone Ghana pages, the feedback and leadership position on the market testifies that something good and great is on.
For Wendy, a Vodafone X client, although she is new to the service, the experience has been great.
“I haven’t been on Vodafone X for a long time but I am enjoying it,” she noted when her views were sought at the party.
She continued that the package was kind to the youth who love to have fun and link up yet don’t have much money adding the service charge was considerate.

“You cab even bundle with 1 cedi but I go for the GH₵24.99 package where I enjoy free Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. It’s very exciting and oh I get to attend and enjoy their parties.”
For Gideon, another subscriber his association with Vodafone X has been fruitful.
“It’s been 2 years being on Vodafone X and considering the fact that I have used other network services, if you’re a student there is no better deal, it’s just exquisite, you get to do Facebook, Snapchatting all on a low budget. You don’t need to have bunch credit before browsing, I go for the GH₵15.00 bundle but with as little as you have you can still browse. What else would you want if not Vodafone X,” he submitted.
Bearing a castle themed setting, there was a blend of techno and alien feel all rolled in one night.
