Sports Journalist and Lecturer, Dr. Godfred Akoto Boafo says Black Stars coach, Otto Addo does not understand the significance of the World Cup to Ghanaians.

According to him, the divided attention of Otto Addo will earn him the wrath of Ghanaians if he does not perform well at the tournament.

The Citi FM Morning show host believes Otto Addo’s behavior and lack of understanding of Ghana and how important the World Cup is for citizens can be linked to him not being Ghanaian born and bred.

Aside from the Black Stars job, Otto Addo also doubles as an assistant coach at Borussia Dortmund. Splitting his time between the two jobs, one suffers leading some Ghanaians to speculate he cherishes his position at the latter to the former.

Speaking on Happy Sports Dialogue on Happy98.9FM, Dr. Akoto Boafo said, “Otto Addo must give his full attention to the black stars job.”

Admitting Ghana benefits from him being at Dortmund, he urged Otto Addo to understand the Ghana job is a huge responsibility and must be treated as such.

“He should’ve been in Ghana by now but he’s still at Dorrmund. Does he mean to tell us no one can fill in for him when he leaves early,” he queried.
