Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunication, Mr. Kenneth Ashibgey has indicated that effective public relation activities play a key role in bolstering Ghana’s economy.

He laid down these intriguing facts during the Global Media Alliance World P.R Day PR X Economy slash event at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall. Mr. Ashigbey added that P.R can drive the narrative of sustainable development and make strides towards a better economy with key support from requisite governmental entities. “We must be able to drive the talks concerning the economy and then as we the P.R professionals and communication people are driving the talks, the people in other government sectors are also made aware of the role they have to play.” he explained.

He indicated that P.R professionals and communication personnel must invest in keeping up with the times by expanding their knowledge about Ghana’s economy. “We must be able to learn and invest in research; In order to lead talks on the economy we must learn; so that we can have the capacity lead the talks.”

As part of this year’s World PR Day Festival, Global Media Alliance in partnership with industry stakeholders has organized three slash events so far in commemoration of the WPRD Festival to enlighten professionals on diverse dynamics of PR. These events were PR Training to Startup, An event geared towards educating professionals about the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues, and the Effects of PR on the economy.
