Organizers confirm readiness for Hands Off Our Hotels, protest set for June 18

Organizers confirm readiness for Hands Off Our Hotels, protest set for June 18

Organizers of the ‘Hands Off Our Hotels’ demonstration, set for tomorrow, June 18, have announced their readiness to proceed with the protest. This confirmation was made earlier today during a press conference addressed by key figures from various groups.

The press engagement was addressed by representatives from the Minority Caucus in Parliament, the Trades Union Congress (TUC), the Federation of Labour, the United Ga Dangme Caucus, the Coalition of La Youth Associations, the Ghana Action Network, and Arise Ghana.

The groups expressed their unwavering support for the demonstration and emphasized the urgency of their protest.

The demonstration will commence at Labadi Beach Hotel, where participants will gather before marching to advocate for the protection of Ghana’s national hotels. This march symbolizes a collective effort to safeguard the country’s cherished and valuable hospitality assets.

In an X post on Monday June 17, 2024, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa wrote, “A very clear and unambiguous message will be sent tomorrow — Enough of the State Capture!

See you at Labadi Beach Hotel tomorrow, where we shall begin our march to save our cherished and valuable national hotels.

For God and Country”.
