Former Great Olympics Public Relations Officer, Saint Osei, has shed light on his recent resignation from the club, following their relegation from the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

In an exclusive interview on Happy Sports, Saint Osei assured fans that, despite the disappointment of relegation, his decision wasn’t driven by the team’s performance. “Our dues to the club have been paid. This decision is not because of the team’s relegation. I have been with the team in difficult times and the team’s relegation isn’t something new.”

Osei acknowledged the team’s struggles, stating, “It’s just fine to move on and there’s no bad blood between myself and anyone from the club.”

He revealed that this wasn’t a sudden decision. “I wanted to resign last season but I didn’t because authorities of the club intervened and I stayed, but it’s time to move on.”

This news comes after a heartbreaking relegation for the Wonder Club. Despite amassing 44 points, a dramatic comeback victory for Hearts of Oak and crucial draws and wins for other relegation-threatened teams sealed their fate.

The club, a two-time GPL champion (1970 and 1974), now joins Bofoakwa Tano and Real Tamale United in Division One League, while Young Apostles FC, Basake Holy Stars, and Vision FC take their place in the top tier.
