President John Dramani Mahama has instructed the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, to begin investigations into allegations of corruption uncovered by the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) committee.

This follows the committee’s submission of a report detailing financial mismanagement and unlawful use of state resources on Monday, February 10.

The report highlights various cases of suspected corruption, prompting the President to call for immediate action. He has tasked the Attorney General with ensuring that individuals involved in financial misconduct are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted where necessary. According to him, the government will no longer allow corruption to thrive without consequences.

The Operation Recover All Loots committee was set up to track and reclaim state assets wrongfully acquired by individuals. The President commended the committee for its dedication and professionalism in carrying out its mandate without seeking financial gain.

The findings in the report reveal substantial financial losses that have hindered national progress. The President stressed the importance of ensuring that public funds are used for essential services such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure rather than being diverted for personal benefit. He assured Ghanaians that the government is determined to recover these lost resources and put measures in place to prevent future financial mismanagement.

He further noted that the ORAL report would not be left to gather dust, as legal action would be taken where necessary. He noted that every recovered asset will be redirected toward national development, reinforcing the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible governance.
