The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) has appealed to residents in the Adansi-Akrofuom area to return any items retrieved from the Ghana Air Force helicopter that crashed on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Intelligence gathered by the Council indicates that some individuals took fragments of the aircraft and personal belongings of the victims from the crash site.

In a statement, the ARCC stressed the importance of returning all items, regardless of size or perceived value.

“We are calling on all persons who may have taken any part of the wreckage including screws, metal pieces, drives, or personal effects to surrender them without delay. These items are critical to the ongoing investigation,” the statement read.

To encourage compliance, the Council is offering a cash reward to anyone who voluntarily returns any item before the close of day on Monday, August 11, 2025.

The ARCC warned that after the deadline, anyone found in possession of any part of the helicopter or victims’ belongings will face prosecution.

Items can be handed over to Unit Committee members, Assembly Members, Municipal or District Chief Executives, or members of the investigating team.

The tragic incident claimed eight lives, including two Cabinet Ministers and two military personnel. The Council emphasized that full public cooperation is vital to ensuring a thorough and respectful investigation.
