YFM’s popular presenter DJ Sly King has secured a nomination in the “DJ Act of the Year” category for the 2025 Ghana Entertainment Awards, marking another milestone in his impressive 15-year career journey.

The nomination recognises Sly King’s consistent contribution to Ghana’s entertainment landscape through his work at YFM, where he hosts popular programmes that have resonated with audiences across the country. His previous recognition includes being “in contention for the top award of DJ of the Year at Ghana DJ awards 2023” and “received 7 nominations” at the 2023 Ghana DJ Awards, “including DJ of the year, best male radio DJ, Afrobeats DJ and DJ/Artist collaboration of the year.”

The Ghana Entertainment Awards, set to take place on 27th September 2025 in New Jersey, aims to showcase Ghana’s rich arts culture whilst providing recognition for outstanding talent in music, arts, and entertainment fields. The awards ceremony will be held at 60 Saddle River Ave, South Hackensack, NJ 07606, with voting currently open at ghentawards.com.

“This nomination reflects the power of consistency and dedication,” said Rev Erskine Whyte, Programmes Manager of YFM. “Sly King’s 15-year journey in broadcasting demonstrates that persistence truly pays. His commitment to entertaining and educating our listeners has earned him this well-deserved recognition.”

DJ Sly King’s nomination comes as part of the Ghana Entertainment Awards’ mission to internationalise Ghanaian talent and acknowledge artists who demonstrate excellence in their respective fields. The awards celebrate contributions from Ghanaian, African, and international entertainers who have made significant impacts in the industry.

YFM has continued to strengthen “its airwaves with another powerful Ghanaian DJ who has been making waves across the globe,” with Sly King representing the station’s commitment to quality broadcasting and entertainment excellence.

Voting for the awards closes on 9th September 2025, with fans encouraged to support their favourite nominees through the official website.
