National Security Coordinator, DCOP Osman Abdul Razak, has emphasized the strategic importance of Ghana’s newly inaugurated Volta Regional Intelligence Center in enhancing security operations across the region and the nation.

Speaking at the launch, DCOP Razak said the modern technological and intelligence hub is part of the government’s broader vision to decentralize national security architecture across the country, ensuring that frontline intelligence and early warning systems are strengthened.

He added that the initiative also contributes to peace and security in the West African sub-region.

According to DCOP Razak, the facility will serve as a regional hub for real-time intelligence, signal interception, and cyber surveillance.

It is expected to enhance the detection and neutralization of threats, protect critical infrastructure, and support the region’s 24-hour economy.

He noted that the center will collaborate closely with the Regional Security Council, District Security Councils, and other security agencies to ensure coordinated operations.

“Their presence will promote continuous intelligence sharing for effective security management within the region,” he said.

Highlighting pressing security challenges, DCOP Razak pointed to the growing threats of cybercrime, online radicalization, digital fraud, and misinformation campaigns.

He stressed that community vigilance and cooperation are vital for the success of the Bureau’s mandate.

He assured that the center aligns with the strategic vision of President John Dramani Mahama and pledged the National Security apparatus’ commitment to safeguarding Ghana’s peace, stability, and prosperity.

DCOP Razak reiterated the Bureau’s dedication to supporting a self-reliant national security agenda, urging all stakeholders to remain engaged in securing the country’s digital and physical spaces.
