Ebusua Dwarfs coach blames lack of energy in club's poor form

Ebusua Dwarfs head coach, Prosper Nartey has attributed his outfit’s sudden decline in form to energy deficiency.

He was appointed the head coach of Ebusua Dwarfs in the latter part of the first round in the Ghana Premier League after the team’s poor start under veteran coach, J.E Sarpong which plunged them deep into the relegation zone.

Prosper, who also doubles as a lecturer at the Cape Coast University has helped propelled the club from the jaws of relegation to a respectable mid-table since his appointment, but recent results has not been favourable as the relegation fight hots up with two matches to go.

“I believe the team is suffering energy distribution. In football, we have something called positive and negative distribution and I assumed office the team was in these two positions, therefore I had to work to put them into a neutral position. I worked extensively on them physically, technically, tactically and psychologically, and that helped in restoring their energy level, however the tight fixture schedule has weakened their energy level again because the players did all everything above their limit to turn the fortunes of the club by avoiding the drop.”

“And this in my opinion, has greatly affected their energy distribution which has taken a toll on the team in our recent games, but irrespective of that the team has maintained its performance level in the last three games we’ve played, and I feel in yesterday’s defeat to Hearts of Oak was no different as we dominated play right from the blast of the whistle, but we couldn’t win, and same can be said about our games against Medeama and Bechem United.”

“Though in terms of performance-wise we’re not at our usual level in all the three defeats, we have played better than the opposition and created more goal scoring chances, but we’ve conceded some goals you cannot even comprehend.”

Ebusua Dwarfs will engage already the relegated New Edubiase United in the Week 29 of the GPL at the Cape Coast Gyandu stadium.
