Abdicate the stool for being partisan - Aflao Chief told

Member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Communication team, Saka Salia has branded the Aflao Chief, Togbui Amenya as partisan.

According to him, the traditional ruler should do his people a favor by stepping down as Chief after he engaged himself in partisan politics.

Speaking on Happy FMs ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show with Don Kwabena Prah, he said, “When you refer to Article 270 of the constitution, it’s so clear that Chiefs cannot and are not supposed to meddle in partisan politics.”

He argued that a partisan Chief is not fit to rule, and charged Togbui Amenya to abdicate the throne. He went on to explain that it’s unnecessary for a chief to give a Minister of State an ultimatum.

In attempt to justify why the President made such remarks, Saka Salia said the President did not imply that the Aflao Chief should go and complete the e-blocks in his community but however, he (President) made those remarks in jest.

On the show, Saka Salia called on Ghanaians to name and shame chiefs that are partisan.

Saka Salia accused the Aflao Chief of spreading falsehood when he (Aflao Chief) said that the NPP government had abandoned the e-blocks meanwhile when the NDC government was leaving office the structure had only one floor and according to him (Saka Salia), it was the NPP government that took over and added the remaining floors. Now the structure is 95 percent complete.
