Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has stepped in with a generous GH¢200,000 donation to support Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, the party’s parliamentary candidate in the upcoming Ablekuma North rerun elections.

The rerun covering 19 polling stations comes after the Electoral Commission discarded results from three disputed stations, prompting a fresh contest.

Despite efforts to halt the process through a court injunction, Nana Akua remains determined and insists she’s already emerged victorious over her main opponent from the NDC.

According to Dr. Adutwum’s campaign team, the donation aims to enhance Nana Akua’s efforts, especially given the tight timeframe laid out by the EC.

The financial support is also viewed as a strategic move to safeguard a seat long considered an NPP stronghold.

The team has publicly expressed confidence in Nana Akua’s chances and extended their warm wishes as she heads into this critical showdown.
