Asante Kotoko silenced their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in a fiercely contested game played at the Accra Sports Stadium in match day six of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors won the game by 2-1.

Justice Blay scored the first goal of the game in the 17th minute to put Asante Kotoko in the lead.

The first half ended with the Porcupine Warriors leading the tie by 1-0.

Hearts of Oak dominated the game in the second half as they pressed for the equalizer.

Kofi Kordzi had a chance to get the equalizer for the Phobians but a timely intervention by Wahab Adams saw his effort go out for a corner kick.

Joseph Esso got the equalizer for Hearts of Oak in the 64th minute as he headed the ball into the net after it came off the post.

Asante Kotoko teenage sensation Matthew Cudjoe was introduced into the game in the 66th minute for Augustine Okrah

The 16-year old quickly announced this presence and sent in a cross which hearts goalkeeper Richard Arthur pulled a tremendous save to deny Kotoko from getting the lead in the 72nd minute.

Asante Kotoko were awarded a penalty in the dying minutes and Naby Keita converted from the penalty spot to hand the Porcupine Warriors the victory.
