Asante Kotoko supporters are calling for the sacking of head coach Kjetil Zacharrissen after the team’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup play-offs.

The Porcupine Warriors lost 2-1 on aggregate to San Pedro in the Confederation Cup play-offs on Sunday in Ivory Coast.

About 300 supporters who made it to Abidjan to watch the game were unhappy about the team’s performance on the day.

Coach Kjetil Zacharriassen after the team’s elimination from the CAF Champions League against Etoile Sportive du Sahel had said in an interview that Asante Kotoko’s level was in the Confederation Cup and not the Champions League.

However the Danish Trainer failed to deliver in the Confederation Cup play-offs against San Pedro, a team without much pedigree in African football.

In the game against San Pedro Zacharriassen paraded a defensive set up in his starting lineup as he wanted protect his 1-0 lead in the first leg.

According to reports, there have been allegations from the supporters that Zachariassen had been compromise before the game by San Pedro officials.

Happy FM reporter, Samuel Anim Addo was in Ivory Coast to bring us some reactions from the fans.

In one of the reports, a Kotoko supporter who made it to Ivory Coast said “We didn’t travel for 15 hours to watch these poor performance from the team, the coach must be sacked.

“Management must be blamed for our elimination from the competition”, said by another supporter to be interviewed by Happy FM.
