The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the recent robbery and murder of mobile money vendors in the region.

The victims, Patricia Nimako and Gideon Owusu Sarpong, were attacked in separate incidents at Krofrom on February 13 and Kwadaso on March 10, 2025.

Speaking at a press briefing on March 25, 2025, Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe confirmed that the suspects were apprehended on March 21, 2025.

“The arrested suspects have been identified as Charles Kwame Danso, 23, also known as Kwame Charles, Philip Fordjour, and Samuel Addae Mensah. They were arrested on March 21, 2025, and are currently in police custody. They will soon be brought before the court to face justice,” he said.

He added that efforts are ongoing to track down a fourth suspect.

The police have also called on the public to assist with information that could aid the investigation.

“Efforts are underway to locate the fourth suspect, identified as Martin Amoah, also known as Augustine Amoah or Elliase Baba Macho. He is believed to be hiding in Kumasi, Dunkwa-Offin, Diaso, or Accra. The police command is, therefore, appealing to the public to assist in the search for Martin Amoah. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the police via the toll-free numbers 191, 112, or 18555,” he added.
