Speaker of Parliament, Alban S. K. Bagbin, reiterates his strong support for the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, which was unanimously passed by parliament.

Speaking through his aide, Mr. Peter Bamfo, at the 2024 Suma Akwantu Kesie Festival in the Bono Region, Bagbin highlighted the bill’s passage as a triumph of democratic principles and a reassertion of Ghana’s commitment to preserving traditional values.

He urged traditional leaders to continue advocating for the preservation of these values and praised the Suma Traditional Council for their leadership in utilizing the festival as a driver for development in the region.

He also praised the Council for the initiative to establish an ultramodern social centre in honour of the late Nana Kwadwo Adinkra, who invented the Adinkra symbols.

“The Adinkra Center will serve as a beacon of hope and opportunity, providing invaluable resources for youth training, cultural education, and socio-economic empowerment,” Speaker Bagbin said.

The Speaker also urged the residents of Suma to unite in support of their leaders to facilitate the area’s development.
