The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has released an official statement to announce the annual ban on noise making and drumming in Accra which starts today Monday 15, 2023.

The ban is part of the preparations for the celebration of the Homowo festival by the Ga people.

In the statement, the AMA reminded residents under its jurisdiction of the yearly operation and urged all precincts within the Greater Accra Region to comply.

The ban affects any form of noisemaking, including the use of loudspeakers, drums, tambourines, funeral rites, and roadside evangelism.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey said the Regional Security Council will ensure strict adherence to the ban within the region.
