Ghana international Thomas Partey has expressed delight after making his debut for Villarreal in a pre-season clash against Aston Villa.
Partey, who recently joined the Spanish side, came off the bench at the Estadio de la Cerámica as Villarreal fell 2-0 to the Premier League outfit. Aston Villa scored in each half to seal the win as the Yellow Submarine continued preparations for their UEFA Champions League campaign.

“First minutes in the tank, God is good,” the midfielder wrote on Instagram after the match.
Ollie Watkins opened the scoring in the 23rd minute for Villa, before Emiliano Buendía doubled the lead just four minutes into the second half.
With his vast experience, Partey is expected to be a key figure for Villarreal in the 2025/26 season. The former Arsenal star is no stranger to Spanish football, having previously shone for Atlético Madrid before his move to England.
The 31-year-old penned a two-year deal to return to La Liga after leaving Arsenal at the end of his contract in June.
