The Ghana Police Service has pledged its full support and commitment to maintaining peace and stability during the minority caucus’ upcoming protest against the Bank of Ghana Governors, ensuring a safe and lawful expression of dissent.

In a statement released by Ghana Police Service, the service has acknowledged receipt of the minority caucus’ letter notifying them of their planned protest and confirmed the scheduled date of July 30, 2024. The designated protest route will begin at Obra Spot – Adabraka, proceed to Farisco-Ridge Roundabout, National Theatre Traffic Light, High Court Complex, then turn onto Atta Mills Highway, and culminate at the Kwame Nkrumah Museum.

The police have instructed the minority caucus to appoint a group of 10 protesters to hand over their petition to the relevant authorities, ensuring a controlled and peaceful delivery of their demands.

The protest organizers have been instructed to take all necessary precautions to maintain peace and order, ensuring that participants conduct themselves in a peaceful and law-abiding manner throughout the entire duration of the protest, from assembly to dispersal.
