The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Accra West Region, has announced a power outage affecting several due to a burnt high tension pole at New Achimota.
The incident has left residents in areas such as Achimota Petroleum, Kinsby, Chantan, Nii Boye Town, Larbi Siaw, Sound Foundation, and surrounding communities without electricity.
In a statement issued on Friday, May 16, 2025, ECG assured affected customers that engineers are currently working to rectify the fault and restore power as quickly as possible.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana, Accra West Region, wishes to inform our cherished customers and the general public that the outage is a result of a burnt high tension pole at New Achimota,” the statement read.
The company apologized for the inconvenience and urged residents to stay safe and await further updates from the ECG via their official communication channels.
