Happy FM, a subsidiary of Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC), has donated boxes of hand sanitizers to the Pantang Mental hospital located at the Adentan Municipality.

The donation which was made on Thursday, April 2nd, was the station’s demonstration of its commitment to help the health facility in the fight against the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Speaking on the reasons for embarking on the donation exercise, Programmes Manager of Happy FM, Emmanuel Akrumah, said:‘’ Ghana has seen increasing cases of the COVID-19 in the last few days prompting us to join the fight, to help curb the crisis. Psychiatric patients may be more susceptible to COVID-19, due to their mental state, poor self-control and self-care that is why we appreciate the selfless medical staff at the hospital who work tirelessly to help the patients.

They need and deserve our support, this is not the first time Happy FM is visiting Pantang hospital. We were here to refurbish an ultra-modern toilet facility and on that day our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ernest Boateng, told you were one family and family lend support when the need arises. Use these santisers to keep yourselves and the patients safe’’, he stated.

The Ward Manager of Pantang hospital, Alberta Twumasi also thanked Happy FM for the kind gesture.
“I am grateful to Happy FM for assisting us once again, you haven’t forgotten about us in this difficult times. You proved to us beyond reasonable doubt, that we are indeed one family. You have restored our hope, thank you. We will put these sanitisers to good use.

I want to encourage the general public to visit the hospital for treatment because Pantang is not for persons with mental health issues only. We have a maternity clinic, dental clinic and a general Out Patient Department (OPD) that treat various diseases”, she said.
