COVID-19: NAPO donates PPEs to Manhyia gov’t hospital

Education Minister and MP for the Manhyia South constituency Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has presented boxes of hand gloves, hand sanitizers as well as face masks to officials at the Manhyia Government Hospital.

The items, the MP in brief remarks said is aimed at helping the frontline staff at the hospital to deal with the threat of the coronavirus pandemic.” The largesse is my personal way of helping to protect the frontline line health workers who are working tirelessly day and night to save human lives in the wake of the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus in our country.

He asserted that the staff are first to deal with cases should they be reported at the facility and hence there is the need to be properly be protected to respond to emergencies.

The MP who did his national service at the Manhyia Government Hospital before enrolling at medical school said his donation is intended to motivate them to do more in these trying times. “Aside from motivating the health workers to continue their splendid work, my gesture is also geared towards reminding the health workers that the entire country appreciates their efforts and we are solidly behind them physically and spiritually.”

The Education Minister entreated all-and-sundry to play collective roles to help stop the spread of the virus saying that “The COVID-19 virus does have limbs to move; people move it. When we move, the virus moves. Therefore we should adhere to the government’s call to stay at home and prevent the spread of the disease.”
