The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has today opened nomination for persons interest in holding positions in the party and leading the group ahead of the 2020 elections.

Candidates aspiring for the flagbearership of the party are expected to procure the nomination form at a cost of ¢2,000 and pay ¢200,000 when filing it.

The information, contained in a press release signed by the Deputy Communication Director of the Party, also added that persons interested in the position of National Chairman will file their forms at a cost of ¢100,000.

However, for purposes of encouraging more women and the youth to aspire to higher political office, aspirants for the position of National Women Organizer and National Youth Organizer will file their form at a reduced cost of ¢20,000.

Speaking to Joy News’ Benjamin Nsiah said the Central Committee for the party has also approved March 8 for the Congress which will be held in Kumasi.

He urged interested persons to pick up a form early so there can be adequate time to fill and file it.

From the statement filing fee for the position of  National Organizer will go for ¢30,000, while that of General Secretary, Vice Chairmen and Treasurer will go for ¢70,000.
