The one-week observation for legendary Ghanaian highlife musician Daddy Lumba was held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Black Star Square in Accra.

The ceremony, initially scheduled for the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, was relocated due to a noise-making ban imposed by the La Traditional Council during the Homowo festival.

Thousands of mourners, including top government officials, politicians, musicians, and fans, gathered to commemorate the passing of the music icon.

The event featured heartfelt tributes, musical performances, and donations from notable figures. Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo donated GH₵100,000, recalling how Daddy Lumba composed a campaign song for him.

Other notable donations came from: Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change and the Ghana Police Service among others
