DOVVSU Commander for the Dormaa Divisional police Command in the Bono Region, ASP Mrs. Irene Danso, has issued a stern warning to residents of Dormaa about domestic violence.
She emphasized that it’s against the law and the Domestic Violence and Victims’ Support Unit of the Ghana Police Service will take action against perpetrators.
Mrs. Danso cautioned that in the heat of domestic disputes, individuals might unintentionally commit acts that could lead to serious consequences, including jail time for murder.
She also urged the youth to avoid sexual abuse, particularly targeting teenagers, as the law frowns on such acts.
On her part, inspector Abena Asiedu of the same department encouraged victims of domestic violence to report incidents to the police, assuring them that their identities would be protected.
