Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III, describing her as an enduring symbol of unity, grace, and compassion.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Bawumia joined the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asanteman Council, and the entire Asanteman in mourning the Queen Mother, who passed away recently.
“Nana, throughout her reign, remained an enduring symbol of unity, grace, and candour. Her sense of compassion and open arms received many, of whom I am proud to have been part,” he wrote.
Dr. Bawumia noted that the Queen Mother’s words of encouragement, counsel, and prayers were a source of strength for him, adding that her passing was not just a loss to the royal household, but to the nation as a whole.
“We have lost a mother, not just the Queen Mother. Ohemaa Konadu Yiadom, Due. Asanteman, Damirifa Due,” Dr. Bawumia added.
