Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has called for urgent action to address the ongoing flooding in her constituency, emphasizing the need to dredge the Odaw River to prevent further damage

Following heavy rains on Thursday, March 13, 2025, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings visited Odawna this morning, March 14 with the Greater-Accra Regional Minister to assess the extent of the damage caused by floodwaters.

In a statement shared on her Facebook page, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings expressed concern over the recurring issue of flooding, particularly highlighting the condition of the Odaw River.

She emphasized that the filth in the river is a serious health threat and that the river must be dredged to allow water to flow freely, preventing future floods during rains.

The MP reiterated her commitment to advocating for residents in her constituency.

“I have and I will continue to raise this matter on the floor of Parliament and use all other avenues at my disposal to push for action to be taken on behalf of my constituents,” she stated.

Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings’ call for immediate action underscores the urgent need to address the ongoing challenges of poor drainage and waste management in the area, which contribute to the frequent flooding.
