The Minister for Tourism Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gormashie has revealed a secret of how the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came to her aid when she was faced with life’s uncertain circumstances.
The minister who is a devout Catholic disclosed during a speech she gave at an event themed Miracle of Christmas organized by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at their Christianbourg Stake Centre on Friday 28th of November, that she was ably helped and supported by the church without any request when life happened to her years ago.
She recounted how the church consoled her after the demise of her husband. “And the church came to my aid again”, she narrated. The help, according to the Hon. Gormashie came from the church without any request reinforcing the Church’s philosophy of helping those in need.
“In 2021, when I entered parliament, you all know that I had issues with tidal waves in my community and then there was also the issue with the VRA spillage. One of the churches that came to our aid, as a Member of Parliament at the time was Church of Later Day Saints. They called and gave us some support”, the minister shared.
Hon. Gormashie expressed her profound appreciation, on behalf of the people in her constituency, to the church encouraging them to sustain their good work. The support, she said, indeed came at a time when it was most needed, helping the people affected navigate those troubled times.
She used the occasion to wish the Church a Merry Christmas and urged them to keep spreading love during the festive season.
Hon. Gormashie, however, entreated Ghanaians to patronize the many events and activities that are to be staged in Ghana as part of the December in Ghana project. She urged Ghanaians to reignite the habit of giving consistently and not just in the month of December.
