The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo- Dampare has assured Ghanaians of the Ghana Police Service’s preparedness in ensuring peace before, during and after the December 7 elections.

‘’We want to assure you that the elections will be very peaceful, because of the measures we put in places’’.

According to him, Ghanaians should feel free and have trust in the police, because they have trained hard for this elections.

‘’Ghanaians, feel free, Ghanaians feel free and live your life normally, we have your back’’.

Speaking at a press conference at the police headquarters, Dr. Dampare reiterated the police service’s robust preparation towards this elections, as this years elections is crucial in the history of the country.

‘’This election has been touted as one of the most crucial elections in our history and rightly so, but knowing from what we have done in terms of our preparations, the assurance is clear’’.

He mentioned that, the service has put out a blueprint, which covers every area of the country.

‘’It has taken us more than two years preparing for this elections, because, we have considered elections to be a process and not an event, and this two years has led us to produce the first ever election blue print, for this country, covering every aspect of this country’’.
