Fadama to host finals of HappyFM SalahFest contest

Ghana’s most pioneering radio brand, Happy98.9FM is all ready to excite Ghana and its Muslim Community with the ultimate cook off to decide which Muslim Community has the best cooks.

The 2022 ‘HappyFM Salah Food Fest’ competition will be climaxed grandly at the Fadam Lorry Station on Satruday, July 16, 2022 at 9am sharp.

After touring a multitude of Zongo communities in the capital, only 10 groups were able to secure spots in the finals contest.Will the reigning champions, Kasoa Zongo cling unto the title or lose it to; Blessed Hand Tasty Food from Nima Zongo or the ever-graceful Insha Allah team representing Fadama Zongo.

Classic Ladies from Tuba Zongo, team Ak)n)ba from Madina Zongo, Maaggee group of Ashaiman Zongo, Classic Ladies from Abeka Zongo, Pretty Ladies representing Sabon Zongo, team Sanash of Maamobi Zongo and Classic Tasty Food from Alajo Zongo all seek to go home as champions of the competition with the grand prize package of GHc20,000, including a big fat cow, and other prizes from sponsors.

The grand finale of the 2022 ‘HappyFM Salah Food Fest’ contest, will also feature exciting musical performances from industry greats like Fameye and Rashid Metal, with support from emerging acts including Lil Sean and Daneva.

Programmes Manager for Happy98.9FM, Elwood Mantey had this to say in anticipation of the final contest; “The road to this final has not been easy but Allah has been good to us till this day. We set out to not only promote the rich foods of the Muslim community but to also showcase the sense of unity amongst them and we have been surprised by the level of togetherness our brothers and sisters in the Zongo communities have. We say a big thank you to all our contestants for showcasing not only their skills but tolerance and healthy sportsmanship. To our sponsors, we say ayekoo for holding us down through it all.”

He pledged the HappyFM brand which only seeks to do better year in year out will revise its notes and organize a grander ‘Salah Food Fest’ contest to promote and showcase the Ghanaian Muslim community. The 2022 ‘HappyFM Salah Food Fest’ contest is sponsored by HD+, Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix, Royal Aroma Fortified Rice, Bigoo Drinks and Cedar Bakes.
