He cannot see the present but he can see his future, he believes he is a vision in his own way that makes him see clearly, being adamant about his ambition to be a politician was to others a joke. He calls himself the star up in the sky, he hails from Techiman in the Brong Ahafo region.
Meet Yazid Adam, a visually impaired politician and a member of the Ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) communication team. Among well abled politicians, he sees himself as Lion who is always ready for battle.
“In my own way I’m a giant, an eagle and a lion down in the jungle full of intellectuals in addition to their personalities as politicians. I’m like a marching band and I’m sure you know that every marching band is the backbone of a moving army,” Yazid told Happy FM’s Joseph Nii Ankrah in an exclusive interview.
Yazid believes that our strength in politics as a country should be our intellectual contributions but not intimidation tactics which scare away others.
“If politics is about physic then it should best be in the boxing ring. It should be the issue of brainpower,” he stated during the interview.
Advising folks who are also physically challenged, he said “Be yourself. Whatever you feel and believe you can do, do it regardless of whatever perception the populace have about your condition. That does not reduce or diminish your talent in anyway. You have to be and believe in yourself,” he said.
