The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has launched a sharp rebuke against former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as the “epitome of deception” and accusing him of evading accountability for Ghana’s economic downturn.

Speaking in an interview with the media, Mr. Kwetey challenged Dr. Bawumia’s credibility and effectiveness during his tenure as head of the Economic Management Team under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

He alleged that Dr. Bawumia distanced himself from responsibility when the economy began to decline.

“When the moment came for the difficulties to be acknowledged, he started pretending saying he wasn’t in charge. That should tell you that he doesn’t have the leadership, he is a coward and doesn’t have the sense of responsibility,” he said.

He further questioned Dr. Bawumia’s suitability for higher office, casting serious doubt on his leadership credentials.
