The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly responded to a fire outbreak at a mechanic shop near the SDA Church in Kintampo, successfully containing the blaze within minutes.
The fire, which erupted on Saturday night, June 7, 2025, caused significant damage, consuming five motorbikes, a commercial fufu pounding machine, and a wooden structure.
However, thanks to the rapid response of the GNFS, adjoining shops and structures were salvaged from destruction.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident, with early assessments suggesting electrical faults or unattended flammable materials as potential causes.
GNFS has urged local businesses and mechanics to adhere to strict fire safety measures to prevent future occurrences.
While no injuries were recorded, the incident highlights the critical need for fire prevention strategies in commercial and workshop areas, especially during dry seasons.
