The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has commenced the documentation and body selection phase of its 2025 enlistment exercise, marking a key stage in the annual recruitment process.
Applicants that passed the initial screening are reporting to the Accra and Kumasi centres for the verification of documents and conducting physical assessments in line with established enlistment requirements. The exercise is being supervised by military personnel to ensure adherence to procedure and fairness in the selection process.
The documentation phase involves the verification of educational certificates, identification documents, and other enlistment requirements, while the body selection component assesses applicants’ physical fitness and general suitability for military training.
According to the GAF, these processes are crucial in ensuring that only qualified and fit candidates are selected for the next phase of training.
The Armed Forces have reiterated their call for applicants to comply strictly with instructions issued for the exercise and to remain patient throughout the process. Applicants have also been cautioned against engaging middlemen or individuals claiming they can influence the recruitment outcome.
This year’s enlistment exercise is taking place under heightened public attention following the death of six applicants during the first phase of the recruitment process. In response, the Ghana Armed Forces has tightened crowd control measures, improved coordination at recruitment centres, and reinforced safety protocols. Observations at the centres indicate a more orderly and structured process, as authorities work to prevent a recurrence and restore public confidence in the enlistment exercise.
