The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a one-week break for all its competitions in December.
In a statement, the GFA said the decision was made to allow participants to exercise their civic responsibility during the national General Elections scheduled for December 7, 2024.
Per the GFA’s 2024/25 season calendar, the Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, and all other competitions will pause after this weekend’s matches.
This includes the MTN FA Cup Round of 64 games and Matchday 6 fixtures of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
Football will resume the following weekend, beginning Friday, December 13, 2024.
The GFA clarified that clubs and match officials were already informed of the halt in the league fixtures, and this notice serves as a reminder.
