Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DataBank Group, Kojo Addae-Mensah, has shared his perspective on the ongoing discourse surrounding the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential race.

With the upcoming GFA general elections looming large, Addae-Mensah offered insights into the electoral landscape and the key issues that should take precedence.

Former GFA vice president and current aspirant for the GFA presidency, George Afriyie, had recently criticized the incumbent GFA President, Kurt Okraku, accusing him of favoring Dreams FC. Afriyie’s words had stirred significant discussion within the football community.

In an exclusive interview with Happysports, Addae-Mensah emphasized the importance of focusing on substantial campaign messages rather than engaging in a critique-driven approach.

“While criticism can be a part of any political race, it’s crucial for all candidates to remember that their primary goal should be to communicate their vision for the future of Ghanaian football,” Addae-Mensah stated. “The electorate is eager to hear about concrete plans, strategies, and reforms that will enhance the sport at all levels. We should prioritize constructive discussions over solely pointing fingers.”

Addae-Mensah believes the upcoming GFA general elections represent a pivotal juncture for Ghanaian football though he expected a more fierce competition in this year’s contest.

The GFA elections are scheduled for October of this year, and they come at a critical time for the footballing landscape in Ghana.

As campaigns continue to unfold and candidates articulate their visions, Addae-Mensah’s call to prioritize substance over critique resonates with those who believe in the power of a united and forward-looking football administration.

Both candidates, the incumbent Kurt E.S Okraku and his contender, the former FA vice George Afriyie passed the first face of the elections committee’s vetting process.
