Ghana Premier League clubs have paid tribute to Ghana’s former leader Jerry John Rawlings following his death at the age of 73.
Mr Rawlings, Ghana’s first President of the Fourth Republic, passed at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
It was unclear what caused his death, but reports say he was unwell and was at the intensive care unit at the hospital.
His death has shocked the country with a lot of tributes from the international community pouring in. The Sports fraternity have not been left out with Premier League clubs mourning over the passing over the statesman.
The Black Stars wore a black armband to honour the late President in their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium which they won.
Black Stars captain Andre Ayew dedicated the win to the late President.
